In light of the queries received regarding "Calamity Leave", please be guided by CSC Memorandum Circulars #2 and #16, both issued in 2012, regarding the guidelines in the grant of special emergency leave to government employees affected by natural calamities/disasters.
Included, among others, is the provision that the grant of special emergency leave shall be based on the declaration of state of calamity by the President of the Philippines or the Local Sanggunian pursuant to Section 16 of RA No. 10121 (Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010).
